What is RSS?

RSS stands for ‘Rich Site Summary’ or is more commonly referred to as ‘Really Simple Syndication.’ It is a format for web publishers and companies such as Yahoo News to share and syndicate regularly changing web content via an RSS Feed.

The subscriber to the RSS Feed benefits by not having to visit each website individually therefore keeping them informed of the latest news, saving them time and protecting their privacy. Individuals require News Aggregator software or a Feed Reader such as Google Reader that retrieves the RSS feed from a website and displays the information on their desktop computer or mobile device.

Look for the small orange RSS icon to register for syndicated content such as Media Safari’s Health Digest, Tech Digest and Marketing blog.
